Who we are

MeshGrade (meshgrade.com) is a free 3D model performance analyzer operated as a service by its founders. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@meshgrade.com.

What data we collect and why

1. In-browser analysis — no data leaves your device

When you drop a model into the grader, the analysis runs entirely inside your browser using a Web Worker. No file is uploaded to our servers. We do not log the filename, size, geometry data or any output of the in-browser grade.

2. Quote and contact requests

When you submit the “Get a free quote” form you provide:

  • Name and email address — used to reply to your request. We do not subscribe you to a mailing list without explicit consent.
  • Optional message — project context you choose to share.
  • Optional model file — if you attach a file it is transferred securely to our storage (Vercel Blob) so we can review it and quote you. Files are stored privately and are not publicly accessible.

Legal basis (GDPR): processing is necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and, where applicable, on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).

3. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to measure anonymous aggregate traffic — pages visited, session duration, country, device type. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that persist for up to 2 years. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google through these cookies.

Legal basis (GDPR): legitimate interest in understanding how the service is used so we can improve it (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can opt out at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser.

How long we keep your data

DataRetention
Name & email from a quote requestUp to 24 months from the date of contact, or until you ask us to delete it
Attached model fileUp to 90 days, then permanently deleted from our storage
In-browser analysis outputNever stored — processed only in your browser

Who we share data with

We use the following sub-processors to operate the service:

  • Vercel— hosting and file storage (EU region available). Vercel's privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery for forwarding your quote request to us.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or any third party beyond the sub-processors listed above.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (if you are in the EU/EEA) and equivalent laws you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Receive a portable copy of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@meshgrade.comwith the subject line “Privacy request”. We will respond within 30 days.

Data security

Model files are stored with private access controls (not publicly listed or guessable). All traffic is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS. We apply the principle of data minimisation — if we don't need it, we don't collect it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service changes. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
